The Fetid Wedding S02E31 Report

General Summary

As this session opens, Alan reveals that the one remaining lizard folk was able to communicate with him and that the 'giants' they killed, the fomorians, were controlling the lizard people. They had moved into the village and were using them to protect themselves and to harvest mushrooms.
Feeling safe, the party decided to spend the night and head out the next day. The Lizardfolk leader had told them that tip caps were deeper in the cavern.
As the party traveled, they encountered a 'herd' of gelatinous cubes slowly proceeding deeper into Araumycous. Gunther turned into a fly scouted ahead which in turn provided information to Alan so that he and the party could teleport ahead of the cubes using Arcane Gate.
Each day, Gunther was 'sensing' for tin caps and did not sense any until the 3rd day of travel. Unfortunately, the cavern they were traveling in doubled back on itself and had other twists and turns which lead him to having the party turn around several times. The party also noted that there were several black pudding feasting on the mushrooms, stripping them down to bare rock.
As the party nears the tin caps, they are greeted by Basidia who thanks them for coming to their aide. He shares his plan of using report spores to allow them to contact the mod of Araumycos. As he releases those spores, the party is attacked by 2 black puddings which they quickly defeat.
As they begin to drift off into a report haze, two giant tendrils burst from the ground to grab them. They fight back and as they defeat the tendrils, the tendrils explode spraying them with spores and sending them all into a dream like state.
In the silvery haze the party learns to move and senses a presence. As they approach the presence Zuggtomy appears and chastises them for interfering with her plan. As they battle, Zuggtomy is distracted by a presence in reality and exits to deal with Juiblex who has also come to disrupt her ritual as well.
When the Demon of rot departs, the group is able to make contact with Araumycos who then asks them to destroy sections of his mind to clear out Zuggtomy's influence. Once done, the party awakes to hear the sound of violence coming from the cavern just ahead.
They discover hundreds of myconids and oozes watching two demon lords engaged in battle. A brief discussion ensues about helping whomever is losing until they destroy one another and then taking out the weakened demon. Gunther suggests just waiting to see what happens.
Joseph seeing an opportunity rushes in and, with Richter at his side, begins to slay oozes.
Meanwhile, spotting the tin caps, Alan and Gunther grab what they need and alert Joseph and Richter to return to the group. As they do so, they witness Zuggtomy being consumed by Juiblex.
Garrick teleports everyone back to Araj and the party delivers the remaining ingredients to Vizeran - only one more item remains.
