Sacred order of Kheiron

The Sacred Order of Kheiron is the primary organized religion of the Aygir, who revere Kheiron as their creator and divine protector. The centaur also worship Kheiron, but it is the Aygir who have established an organized religious structure, developing a deep connection to his teachings of balance, healing, and warfare. For the Aygir, Kheiron represents the perfect fusion of nature, wisdom, and strength, and his followers are dedicated to maintaining harmony between the spiritual and physical realms.

Priesthood

The Aygir have a highly structured priesthood known as the Celestial Wardens, responsible for spreading Kheiron's teachings and overseeing his rituals. The priesthood is divided into three main orders.
The Wardens of the Bow: This order focuses on combat training, acting as spiritual warriors who defend the faith. They are skilled in archery and strategy, following Kheiron's example as a master tactician.
The Healers of the Hoof: This group specializes in healing and herbology. They are revered for their knowledge of medicine and are often called upon to heal both Aygir and Centaur after battles.
The Starseers: The most mystical of the priesthood, these Diviners study the heavens, interpreting omens and guiding the Aygir through Kheiron’s celestial teachings. They are often tasked with determining migrations and war campaigns based on their readings of the stars.

Temples & Sacred Sites:

The Aygir have built grand temples dedicated to Kheiron, usually located in mountain passes or open plains where the land meets the sky. The most significant of these is the Kustal Dag, a temple built on sacred ground with a direct tie to the God, where both Aygir and Centaur come to seek blessings and guidance. The temples are designed with open-air sanctuaries, allowing worshippers to observe the stars, which are sacred in Kheiron’s teachings.
Kheiron’s influence is most strongly felt within the Aygir culture. His teachings on warfare, healing, and balance are deeply ingrained in their societal structure. The Aygir follow a rigid hierarchy within the Sacred Order, ensuring that warriors, healers, and scholars are trained to uphold Kheiron’s values. Divination and astronomy play a critical role in the Aygir’s decision-making, with Starseers guiding military and spiritual endeavors based on the heavens.
