Root Vegetable Hash

Root Vegetable Hash is a rustic dish born of resourcefulness and creativity. The mix of tubers is vibrant, with chunks of golden potatoes, bright orange carrots, and pale beige parsnips roasted to a perfect golden brown. Interspersed are pieces of more unusual vegetables native to Stormwreck island:   Moonroot, a pale, almost translucent tuber that carries a faint sweetness, its edges caramelized from the roasting.
Bittercrests, small, purple-skinned tubers with a sharp, tangy bite that balances the sweetness of the moonroot and carrots.   The vegetables are unevenly chopped, giving the dish a rough, hearty appearance, but they are cooked to perfection—soft on the inside with a slightly crispy exterior. The smoked meat, likely from small game caught on the island, adds a savory depth to the dish. The meat is cured with a blend of salt and wild island herbs, giving it a subtle, smoky flavor with hints of rosemary and thyme.   To finish, the kobolds scatter dried seaweed flakes over the top, the green and black specks providing a briny crunch that complements the smoky, earthy flavors. The seaweed is likely harvested from the nearby shore and dried in the sun, retaining its natural salinity and slight chewiness.   The aroma is enticing—a mix of roasted sweetness, smoky richness, and the faint scent of the sea. Served hot, the hash is hearty and filling, perfect for a long day of work or adventure.
