Goblin Grog

Goblin Grog is the cheapest and most infamous ale in the land, brewed from an unpredictable mix of whatever ingredients are available. Known for its awful taste but potent effects, this rotgut ale is a staple in goblin taverns and among those looking for a quick, cheap buzz. Despite its reputation, it remains a popular choice due to its low cost and wide availability.   Goblin Grog is unapologetically vile. Its taste varies wildly depending on the batch but is often described as sour, acrid, or muddy. Some drinkers claim to detect hints of spoiled fruit, burnt grains, or even dirt. Its only redeeming quality is its strong kick and rapid intoxication.   Brewed for centuries by goblin clans, Goblin Grog was born out of necessity, using whatever scraps and leftovers could be fermented. It became a cultural icon among goblins, who take pride in the chaotic and resourceful nature of their brewing methods. Over time, the grog spread to other communities, especially among adventurers and laborers who valued its affordability.
One of the defining characteristics of Goblin Grog is its complete lack of standardization. Depending on where it’s brewed, the ale can vary wildly in color, ranging from muddy browns to murky greens and even unsettling yellows. The texture or mouthfeel is equally inconsistent, with some batches being watery and thin, while others are syrupy and viscous. These variations, often influenced by regional ingredients or the brewer's whim, give Goblin Grog a chaotic identity that perfectly reflects goblin culture.
