Elim (Ee-lim)

Elim started as a Dwarven settlement for trade with the races of the surface, but over time, travel, trade and convenience has caused Elim to grow into one of the busiest cities in the kingdom. Nestled against the Vel Turun River anything shipping to or from Dhuma must pass Elim and trade is the heart of the city.
The large fortress on the northern side of the river is an entrance to the underground fortress city of Weldenkont. The mighty bridge connects the underground city with an "old town". This district was built by the people of the underground city as a trade outpost on the surface but is now where the miners and forgers call home.
You can find almost any race in Eilm as it is the last city before the Kadhar pass, a well travelled but treacherous road that bridges the gap between the rich temperate forests of Kamulos to the desert wastes of Dhuma and the only "easily" traversable land path to the rest of the continent unless you wish to brave the northern icy wastes of Skölna.

Government

The townmaster of Elim is a half-dwarf named Fostrik Flintbrand. He oversees the well-being of Elim as a whole as well as posts odd jobs and requests on the notice board outside of the large stone building. He's a strange man, but always has the best in mind for his home. His position is backed by the High Council of Kamulos, keeping both the dwarves and humans happy with his heritage and while sometimes tensions can get high Flintbrand is generally good at making sure the people of his city, and the High Guard get along with the steady stream of travellers that pass through.

Places of Interest

Being a large city, Elim has many places of interest from the market street, to the residential district, the old town or dwarvish quarter, the docks and much more.

Rambling Roc in and Tavern

The largest Inn in town and the most popular with both the natives and in turn travellers as well. Usually bustling with people of all shapes and sizes. Run by a short but kind male human named Narin Barua. It has three stories and a cellar. A stone-walled building, with dwarf-wrought iron furnishings. An eagle's skull hangs over the hearth. A fair sized stable is attached to the building, contributing to it's popularity.

Elim's Miner Exchange

Miners come here to have their valuable finds weighed, measured, and paid out. The exchange also serves as an unofficial records office, registering claims to various streams and excavations around the area. Enough wealth is hidden in the nearby streams and valleys to support a good number of independent prospectors.   The exchange is a great place to meet people who spend a lot of time out and about in the countryside surrounding Elim. The guildmaster is a calculating human woman named Halia Thornton. She is also an agent of the Zhentarim, a shadowy organization that seeks to exert secret control over the South through wealth and influence. Halia is working slowly to bring Elim under her control, and she can become a valuable patron to adventurers who don’t cross her.

Bronzebuckle Forge and Armory

The biggest forge and shop in town, busy and bustling with orders and travellers. The Dwarven Bronzebuckle family runs the operation, which is much larger than this forge alone. Shipping weapons and armor across Kamulos and Dhuma

Temple of Tirnir

Elim's biggest temple to the God Tirnir, the god of outward journeys and remover of obstacles. It is normally in the care of a zealous elf acolyte named Sister Garaele. Sister Garaele is a member of the Harpers, a scattered network of adventurers and spies who advocate equality and covertly oppose the abuse of power. The Harpers gather information throughout the land to thwart tyrants. They aid the weak, the poor, and the oppressed. Sister Garaele regularly reports to her superiors on events in and around Elim.

Godwin's General Goods

A general store run by Lianne Godwin. It is the largest goods shop in Elim and their wares change weekly.
