Daril-Ei is a friendly and likeable Argonian man living in the city of Riften, in Skyrim. Known better as Swims-in-Many-Places (in full: Swims-in-Many-Places-Where-He-Shouldn't-But-Only-At-Night-And-When-The-Moons-Are-New), he is a shockingly cunning thief whose carefree and jovial nature belies a great intelligence and incredible skill. He rarely uses his Jel name, Daril-Ei (meaning "Eyes-Seeing-Everything-in-Ecstasy"), instead preferring to go by the name given by a friend after he was caught several times skinny-dipping at night in the gardens and manors of nobles.

Personal history

Born in 4E 173 in Black Marsh near the city of Gideon, Daril-Ei's childhood was mostly uneventful; his parents were farmers tending the fields of a local noble, and he was a particular favorite playmate of the noble's children. After a string of incidents involving public indecency and trespassing charges, he fled his homeland at the age of 17 and headed slowly north through Cyrodiil into South-Eastern Skyrim, living in the woods for several years. Eventually, he found work on the docks of Riften, supplementing his legitimate income by picking pockets and stealing loose goods. After being caught picking the pocket of a man named Brynjolf, he was offered a position in the Thieves' Guild (Skyrim), and is rumored to have been instrumental in its return to glory.
