The party meets up with Holgunn who asks them to go outside of the city walls and down to the beach to destroy the Covenant siege machines. The party agrees to help.

The party manages to successfully destroy the enemy siege machines on the beach and witness the appearance of Balreth, one of the Brother's of Strife. Balreth destroys the Covenant fleet and kills off all remaining enemy forces in the area in brutal fashion. Tanval thanks the party for giving him the time he needed to complete the ritual to summon Balreth. The siege is over. The Pact is victorious. However, Tanval has no idea how to bind Balreth once again, which could spell catastrophe for the region as Balreth's power could wipe out the entire area.

Tanval says that his son Garyn has a camp on the slopes of Ash Mountain where Balreth has gone to. He says to find Garyn and help bring a stop to the rampaging Balreth
