The Royal Service Journal
A military journal in Astoria with readership elsewhere that details all promotions in the Astorian navy as well as articles written by officers and book reviews.
The Royal Service Journal (JAMS) is a military journal written for and by members of the Astorian military. It's published monthly in a series of editions that compile to form an annual volume. The journal was first published in 3720 for the Astorian army. In 3726, it expanded to include articles by naval officers and was renamed the Journal for Astorian Military Servicemen. In 4414, it was renamed again to the Royal Service Journal.
I've finally been posted, and I included a copy of this month's edition for you. It's a great achievement in any officer's career to be posted. Captain Brennant will be livid. It's unusual for a junior officer to be made post; truly, I couldn't be happier. The Norn is a lovely ship, and soon, I will be rich with prize money.
One of the greatest honors a soldier can receive is to be mentioned in despatches. Every battalion and ship subscribes to JAMS at the commander's expense. Names mentioned in the journal will be remembered for years.
