Servotar

Wardens of the world

In the beginning, before the known world of Aviin came to be, earlier than Tal'rond had ever been imagined, there were 5 Créators and in their power they were absolute. These were the beings of Ade'ryn (including Ade'ryn herself) that shaped the world and it's skies when their was once nothing.   Shortly after their birth, Adé'ryn, divided her thought further to create the Servotar, beings of equal power to the Créators, but with the purpose of aiding them.   After Umbral'ogh's betrayal, he too created some beings of his own thought, they were the Atondar.

Servotar

Elodi - The Seedmaker

Elodi

Elodi was the first of the Servotar, and she was the one to make the seed of Eála at Ade'ryn's side. Under Adé'ryn's will, she nurtured the seed in the golden plains of Fallanor until the time came that Adé'ryn would call down the Ephron'ir's power to eradiate life into the seed and cause it to grow. Feeling blessed to have impressed Adé'ryn, Elodi made it her life's purpose to care for the tree's growth. During all the years that followed, she made the Gardens of Elodi, surrounding the Great Tree with magnificent plants. Elodi left Fallanor only when the Créators called for Malynor, then known simply as the mainlands, to be filled with verdant life. Much later in her existence, after the birth of the Children of Eala, she created the first halflings from the last sap of the Great Tree of Fallanor.

Manlúln - The Wanderer

Manluln

Second of the Servotar was Manlúln, he was Adé'ryn's observer. He was chosen to oversee all that was done by her will, but he must also record and learn. Because of this Manlúln became respected most by the other Servotar for his wisdom. He and Era would often travel the land of Fallanor together, and thereafter the mainlands. From her he would learn more than he first perceived, because she was able to change what he had already seen. Manlúln never had a single place of living, and instead felt more comfortable travelling forever. But his trail could always be found by following the signs. Manlúln's powers were rare and minute, but were shown to their greatest extent when Adé'ryn was harmed fatally by Umbral'ogh. He stretched the space of reality between the two Créator's, and the Primordial of Evil was contained for many years to come whilst the forces of Adé battled the armies of the Atondar. Manlúln was the one to name Cassiel the 'true' being of Death, and after the Endless War he was left in possession of Caélum's globe of air, Lin'hnen.

Norsóm - Lord of the Hunt

Norsóm

Norsóm was the third of the Servotar, and is brother of Érom, Lady of Beasts. As Lord of the Hunt he was the greatest hunter and his purpose was to teach that nothing must be taken in greed, only in need. He worked most closely with Érom to create the circle of life that exists in the wilds of the mainlands. Before the coming of the first age, Norsóm lived in the northern forests of Fallanor, in the Woodland Halls of Baran'erym. It was here that he found solitude was his greatest ally, where he enjoyed his own thoughts. From here, Norsóm became much closer with the Créator of Seas, Mare'neptuna, who also enjoyed the solitude of the ocean. In the Endless War Norsóm scouted the forests of the mainlands, single-handedly wiping out entire bastions of Atondar forces and whole armies of Morn'fal in the End Days. Norsóm lead the War of Flames against the Morn'fal of Rag'er-band during the before the Fall of Tarminos, a now lost land north-east of Tal'rond. This was the first battle that the High Elves joined, and they were equally amazed and fearful of Norsóm's fire, which burned as brilliantly as the Ephron'ir.

Érom - Lady of Beasts

Fourth of the Servotar was Érom, twin sister of Norsóm. As the Lady of Beasts it was her task to see the world be lived on by creatures of nature and her brother saw that predator and prey made a cycle of balance in the animal kingdom. With her brother, she roamed the mainlands and began to fill Elodi's fields and forests with life. From her mind she would imagine what must exist, and by Adé'ryn's will the Ephron'ir would lend it's power to Érom. In her time of learning from the Créators in Fallanor, she sat atop the Mountains of Elad'ilyn, which overlooked Norsóm's woodland, Baran'erym. From there the great Golden Mountain could be seen, where Mythril and Terras'doro communed with the earth. During the Battle of Eternal Fires, Érom supported her brother with armies of beasts.

Era - Harbinger of Change

Era

Era is the fifth Servotar to be born from Adé'ryn's thought, and she is unlike any of the other Servotar for she took pity upon the Primordial Evil even after the Endless War began. In the beginning she was given Adé'ryn's will of change, and by Era's heart the world around her would shift and bring about the seasons of the land. In the mainlands, she and Manlúln roamed the changing environments, and throughout her gaze would wander to the sky, where the sunlit moon would always stare back at her. Manlúln knew it was not wise, but she went to Adé'ryn and learned of Umbral'ogh's plight. Until now there was only Fall and Rise, Autumn and Summer. But now her heart was filled with sorrow and it caused winter to cover the land and stop all growth. She visited Umbral'ogh on many occasions in secret and in the end she was responsible for releasing him from his prison. After the Endless War began, Era took Umbral'ogh's side but found difficulty in warring with her brethren. Era spent most of her time on Fallanor within the Forgotten Halls of Pelhail up until this time, it was Umbral'gh's place of study.

Lady Eredír - The Sentient

Lady Eredir

As the sixth Servotar, Lady Eredír was given Adé'ryns will to love and nurture, heal and protect the things around her. It was after Era's sadness brought winter unto the mainlands that Lady Eredir was given her purpose. She was responsible for thawing the world and rejuvenating it so that the Créators and Servotar did not waste their efforts. Thanks to Lady Eredír, Spring began. As the most empathetic of the Servotar, Lady Eredír became very close with the Arta'fal and personally tended to the wounded of the War of Flames. She taught the high elves the art of healing. She was most close to Elodi and Erom, tending to their land and beasts. When she was not roaming Fallanor, she was at Ade'ryn's side with the then similarly untitled Deimors. Because of this she resided in Amantulle, where the Servotar and Créators would convene to meet with Adé'ryn.

Mythril - The Demiurge

Mythril

Eighth of the Servotar was Mythril, and he was Terras'doro's most loyal disciple and friend throughout the rule of Adé'ryn and the creation of the mainlands. In the Golden Mountain of Eladth-Glaur, Mythril learned all that he could from Terras'doro in shaping the land into something more useful. In time, Mythril's expertise moved further than what Terras'doro could perceive and in time to follow Mythril became known as Aegerudî, the 'god beneath the mountain' to the Arta'fal. During the Endless War, Mythril played a vital role in forging the weapons of the Arta'fal that battled in Rag'aer-band. During the events of the Battle of Eternal Fires, Mythril was captured by Umbral'ogh and brainwashed by Shelnor. After being saved by Gadireel, Mythril focused his efforts to create more powerful weapons that would assure the victory of Adé. When Terras'doro sacrificed himself, he bequeathed his hammer, Vólig, to Mythril, granting who was once simply 'the Smith' a much greater power.

Deimors - Lady of Wrath

Deimors

'When wrath walks the world... none will know peace.' That is the legend of Deimors, Lady of Wrath, the ninth Servotar. Deimos's purpose was made as an afterthought, the lingering last moments of Adé'ryn's consciousness. It was also in part to Deimors' own vengeful spirit that her purpose took shape as wrath. It was as Manlúln used his strength to capture Umbral'ogh in a realm betwixt and when Lady Eredír and Elodi sought to heal Adé'ryn's wounds, that Deimors finally emerged, her power reverberating across Fallanor, causing a blood-rage. She leaped across the land and immediately impaled Umbral'ogh in the realm betwixt, and so great was her strength that it threw him far back into the mainlands. This marked the beginning of the End Days. During this time, Deimors hunted down Umbral'ogh more ravenously than her predecessors. Deimors met her end when she defeated Colussar after the sacrifice of the three Creators, vanishing and presumably dying.

Cassiel - The Still and Silent

Cassiel

The tenth Servotar descended upon the world during the End Days, when Adé'ryn had been in eternal sleep within Amantulle. The skies had been dark, and the Ephron'ir's light was barely piercing through the clouds summoned by Umbral'ogh from his battlefield in the eastern reaches of the mainlands. It was her birthright to reap all evil, and as Manlúln described, she was what Umbral'ogh was meant to be. She was the impartial Servotar of Death. She was first seen arriving to battle at the end of the War of Flames. This was a battle that was quickly turning against the forces of Adé, and so when Cassiel appeared all around her words ceased and action stopped. She created stillness - and in that motionless silence - all stopped to look upon her and in their dying breath know peace once more. The suffering soldiers of Adé were chosen and liberated, ending their lives swiftly and with pity. The forces of Umbral'ogh similarly met a fate of death when they stepped too close to Cassiel. She was later seen in the final attack to reclaim Manamar, destroying waves of Morn'fal in a single sweep of her blade.

Gadireel - The Warbringer

Gadireel

Eleventh was Gadireel, known as the Warbringer, and he was the strategist of the Servotar as they battled Umbral'ogh. During the time that Cassiel's shape was taking form, so to was Gadireel's. From the blood of Adé'ryn that touched the Great Tree, his form took shape. Unlike his twin sister, however, he first appeared on Fallanor and communed with the Créators and Servotar that were not present at the Fall of Tarminos at the end of the War of Flames. He reassured them, and quickly turned his own attention to a different area entirely within the mainlands. He suspected a secret army of Umbral'ogh to be somewhere else. Gadireel was right, and brought war to the south-western area of the mainlands, known now as Tal'rond. It's said his war blackened the mountains with the blood of the morn'fal and the horrifying nightmares that were discovered.

Gevurah - The Judge

Gevurah

The last of the Servotar was Gevurah, and he was the only one not born from Adé'ryn's thought. Instead, he was previously the Atondar Malth'ar - The Witness. As the twelfth Servotar, he had witnessed and seen right from wrong, and had known pity and shame. His new name would not pass down far into history, lost to time and unknown to many of the servotar he became a mystery, and even an untrusted ally to the Servotar that met him. He was then commonly called the Grim Reaper, or the Great Judge. It was his purpose to descend upon Aviin and reap the souls of the dead that died after wilting. He would pluck their soul and read their history as it played out before him. By his hand, he would dot the sky with their souls as bright and precious stars, or he would deem them unworthy and toss their souls into the nothingness beyond Adé'ryn's creation. Adé'ryn learned where she was wrong once more, that not all life had to be taken at it's brightest moment, thus the Reaper, sometimes also known as Death, would wait before guiding the lost souls to the stars.
