Koradi
Description
Koradi is the language of koradi, plant-like beings descended from the Qualinesti elves who first settled in Ansalon. While some words may be rooted in Elvish, the language, like its people, has changed over time and become different from its parent. One must be patient when conversing with a koradi, as their language is slow and poetic. Ideas are ordered in three lines with five, seven, and five syllables, respectively. While singing in this language can transfer ideas more quickly, the slow-moving koradi rarely have reason to speak with urgency. Observers have said a conversation may span multiple years. When coupled with the incredible longevity of the koradi and their ability to photosynthesize, speakers may wait for natural occurrences, like seasons or migration patterns, to make their points.Speakers
Since koradi live in insular communities, it is uncommon for others to speak this language. However, their people are usually welcoming of outsiders, especially those who treat nature with respect; therefore, it is possible to learn the language if accepted by a koradi clan.Dialects
The koradi are as different as the biomes they call home. Therefore, it is understood that there are slight dialectic differences between koradi living in forests, swamps, caves, taigas, and so on.Simple Farewell
'Til we speak againMay the winds be at your back
May your steps be soft
