Thought Stone

Summary

Thought Stones are a magical quazi-living crystal found underneath the empty hills that make up the former kingdoms of Herost, Celcene and Aior. It was used to make numerous magical items throughout the Seltien kingdoms, and later to make blackened Tiorathan Steel.

Harvesting

Thought Stones occur naturally deep under the former Seltien kingdoms in clusters, however on occasion crystals break away from the clusters and are drawn up toward the surface. The ancient Seltien would harvest these crystals near the surface, however the Tiorathan hierarchy would begin tearing up the surface of the kingdoms Aior, Celcene and Herost to find the deeper deposits for use in forging Blackened Tiorathan Steel.

Uses and users

Thought Stones are used by the Seltien to craft there thought amulets, a kind om compact magical journal that stores memories and sensations but can only be read by it's maker. These amulets only reguire a small shard to make and as such are considered more or less renewable, while the Tiorathan's use was far less sustainable. During the first age the Tiorathans found that Thought stones could be used to craft an improved Tiorathan Steel, and would harvest entire clusters.

History

Throughout history the Seltien would use Thought Stones to craft thought amulets, and continue to do so well into the second age. During the first age the Tiorathans began to use it to forge Blackened Tiorathan Steel, however after they lost the Seltien kingdoms they lost access to the material.
