The Titan-Minds

Summary

The Titan-minds are a collective of ever-changing titans, a mass from which individual minds appear and disappear. Each Titan only exists temporarily before being disappearing again into the collective forces of it's creation.   The Titan-minds are among the first known entities to exist within the proto-world that predates the realms of Tor'Saarn, living as an opposing force to Sar'aan's people, the Astrals. Where the Astrals represented absolute belief in personal identity, the Titan-minds represent ruthless service to the collective.

History

Creation

Little is known for sure about the origins of the entities known as the Titan-Minds (often simply Titans) other than they emerged many thousands of years before the realms by the first of the gods, a time not far removed from the dawn of the Astrals.   Each of the Titans that emerge exist only for a short time, returning to the collective after no more than a year, and often fade in as short a time as a month. The Titans emerge from the unending maelstrom at the core of the Proto-world, and return to the same mass before eventually returning in a new form with a new identity.

Early History

Prior to the civil war between the Titan-Minds and the first gods the emerging Titans ruled supreme, challenged only by the occasional hero to emerge from the rank of the Astrals. The first true challenge to their dominance emerged with Sar'aans creation of the Arcai, powerful beings that merged the chaotic energies of the Maelstrom with the certainty of his creation. The Titans destroyed the Arcai with reckless abandon, knowing the threat of Astrals would only continue to grow should their new leader continue to develop the elemental constructs.   However many of the Titans at the time admired Sar'aans constructs, seeing the potential in his new made power, soon to be called creation. A small group of these Titans would abandon the Titan-Minds to seek out Sar'aan and learn the power of creation from him, becoming the first gods and sparking the Astral Crusades.

Later History

The exploits of the Titans after the Astral Crusades is little known, other than their part in the sundering of Tiorath. However it is known that it was the Titan-Minds who were responsible for casting out the gods from the Proto-World, and the entrapment of the Astrals within their realm.
