Aior Seltien

Summary

Aior-Seltien, often called the Angels of Nioss, are the least common form of Seltien, and wander for by far the longest. Aior-Seltien can spend as long as a century on their learning pilgrimage, and will often choose to teach as a form of meditation. They are the tallest and slimmest, looking like fair demi-gods. They are drawn to philosophers and altruists, and take an active role in advising the visionaries of Tor'Saarn.

Physical Description

The Aior Seltien typically stand between 180-200cm, but are often taller. They bare a crystalline half-halo, which is made by two protrusions above their temples which then intertwine to make the semi-circle of their semi-halo. Their eyes and skin are often pale, the colors of their eyes are often extremely varied between individuals yet are more muted and lighter than human's eyes, universally being pastel in tone.

Psychological Description

The perspective of the Aior may distort in many ways as they age, however unlike many long lived races the Aior typically (but not universally) maintain their respect for the shorter lived sentient races of Tor'Saarn. They are philosophers by nature, and often seek to find or develop a grand philosophical theory to adhere to. Most often these philosophies are considered in a positive light by the moral standards of Tor'Saarn, however it is not unheard of for darker philosophical outlooks to manifest among the Aior.

Range of Habitation

Melnir, Hyeros

Cultural Basics

The Aior vary greatly in their cultural outlooks, and often merge the cultures of Tor'Saarn in their search for the perfect Philosophical outlook.

History

The Aior were always the rarest of the Seltien as they have far lower birth rates than their cousins. As such they were not well represented during the war between the two empires, as they were seldom of use to the Tiorathan empire who would seldom opt to heed their wisdom.

Advanced Physiology

Skeletal and Muscular Structures Their skeletal structures are similar to the Herost and Celcene Seltien. However the crystal growths on their back and neck are smaller, and two extra crystalline growths are present on their lower chest and over their navel.   Diet Similar to humans.   Miscellaneous When they perform a 'grounding' ritual, instead of lying on the ground they stand leaning back arms outstretched, looking to the sky. They typically ground themselves much less frequently than their kin, grounding themselves with full moons as well as starry nights.
