The Purification (also known as the Destabilization) ran over a five decade period, from the year 6035 GA until 6081 GA, the year before year 1 NR (New Reckoning).   There are different names for the event, but the Purification is the most commonly used. The name came from the general acceptance that the Gods had chosen to work in concert to cleanse the country of Hlinsko from the world.

The Purification started as a series of geological events; earthquakes; landslides; volcanic eruptions; and emerging hot springs. On the edges of the oceans, there were major tidal shifts and frequent tidal waves. After a few months the devastating geological events and landslides subsided, but then strange weather phenomena started. There were tremendous thunderstorms lasting weeks.
