Burr River
This slow-moving tributary of the Lantan River, flows from its marshy start in the Burr Forest to Farn Lake in a southeasterly direction. The river is muddy brown and sluggish, full of fish, turtles and frogs. While it is relatively shallow and broad through the forest, from the edge of the forest to the lake the depth is consistently over the head of even a tall horse.
Geography
In the center of the Burr Forest a half dozen unnamed creeks from in and around Piney Ridge flow into the Piney Marsh, which slowly drains into the river.
Three settlements sit on its banks: Butterfly Docks, on the north bank where it empties into the lake; Toria, on the south bank at the only ferry crossing; and Burr, which sits on the north bank, just outside the forest, on the southern edge of a meandering swampy section of the river.
Natural Resources
The river itself produces no resources, but it is the primary route that wood from the town of Burr makes its way to Farn Lake and eventually to Apple Springs.
