Brotherhood of Silk

As the darkness spreading ever presently from the Rotted Wood is held at bay by the Horath Assembly another clandestine organization walks the world searching always for clues as to the cause and the cure for the miasma that infects central Kalandorei.
Led by the charismatic Dojan Kai the Brotherhood of Silk inhabits every city and most towns of repute across the eastern kingdom. Where the Keepers and the Horath Assembly of the west look to understand magic for the greater good, the Brotherhood is interested only in harnessing it and how they can control it to move forward their personal agendas.
Formed originally by disenfranchised magi of a far older organization the brotherhood was born. Like any group, the Horath Assembly have rules and regulations, practice only certain kinds of magic and have many safeguards in place. When it comes to the Brotherhood of Silk no such restraints apply. There no buildings, no great halls, no secret lairs or labs. The Brotherhood meets only infrequently and never more than three or four people. This dispersive practice allows them a modicum of secrecy that alludes to many of the other magic-based organizations that frequent the world.
Their primary goal is power, not as an organization but as individuals. This premise is written as:
"A thousand candles together can illuminate but a single room, A single candle in a thousand rooms illuminates the world."
