Draelish Cultural Groups and Politics

There are two main types of Draelish, the Kyearx and the Akara. The Kyearx identify with their Mother-god, Kykuun, while the Akara identify with their Father-god, Akulus. Both gather themselves into groups called Clans (da'Nhar). These clans are further broken down into Affinity groups, with most groups dominated by a single type. These Affinity groups are called Tribes.   There are minor clans and there are major clans. Minor clans are generally composed of about 100 Draelish and can run up to a population of about 500. Major clans are composed of around 5,000 Draelish, with the largest groups reaching close to 25,000, though there is typically only one Clan per Affinity that reaches this large of a population. These are the most well-known and largest of the clans, with most if not all of them being established on a major ley line, allowing the typically nomadic Draelish to develop large, spread-out settlements. Still, the heartbeat of a Draelish lies in their nomadic nature to venture out, hoping to uncover remnants of the lost Draelish Kingdoms.   Kyearx Clans, such as Ktamatalan, are composed of an assortment of families, with the most powerful and/or most influential family known as the ruling Dynasty. Da'kyearx are fiercely loyal to their family, viewing the clan as a necessity.   Akara Clans, such as Tndachismenan, like to treat the whole clan as one. Helping each other and finding commonality together, da'Akara pride themselves on putting the interests of the clan above personal ambitions and goals, seeking instead to further their connection to each other and the lands they call home.   It is uncommon for a large gathering to happen between the different clans, though a few might meet together to discuss trade or participate in feasts and festivals now and then. Very rarely will this happen between Akara and Kyearx. The most famous instance is known as Ajanor's Calling, where the reading of the Divine Writings took place roughly 2,500 years ago. It was then that the First Clan decided upon the ancient traditions and interclan rules that govern life for the various groups of Draelish, though bitterness remains between the Kyearx and Akara, depending on which version of events one believes.

Little known fact: There's two types of Draelish that aren't considered Kyearx or Akara: Formless and Flux. Only Formless can really be claimed as a part of one or the other, with Flux having a place only in myths and legends.
