3rd-level Spell: Lightning Beam

Sorcery (Evocation)

A brilliant, blue-white beam of lightning flashes forth from your fingertips, forming a line 100-feet long and 5-feet wide in a direction you choose.

You can cause the beam to bounce once off of a solid, nonconductive object that you can see (such as a stone wall) in a new direction you choose if it has not reached its maximum length. Each creature struck by the beam must make a Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 4d12 lightning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one, and cannot be damaged by the beam more than once.

The lightning ignites flammable objects in the area that aren't being worn or carried.

  • At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d12 for each slot level above 3rd.
