Elf

Elves are newly returned into the world, the first being officially labelled and classified in the 2030s. It appears, at this time, that they are slower to mature than normal humans. Early elves were often misidentified as having learning disabilities.
Elves have a natural grace and magical affinity. They tend to be taller than humans and more slender with pointed ears and a beauty which is hard to put one's finger on; they just have more charisma. Elves seem to have a wide range of physical types, as humans do. They are found in all corners of the globe. Their numbers are small and not many children have been born of the elves. Those that are, are not necessarily elves, or half elves themselves, though they do appear to have a higher chance of some variety of magical affinity. 
The magical affinity of elves can take many forms. Some have innate magical abilities, like weather working, or working with earth or wood. Others can craft spells or magical items. Still others appear to be innately magical and can see or feel the magic around them and shape it.

Culture

Major language groups and dialects

As the elves are newly reborn into the world, they do not have a native language; however, among the elves there is a major push to accept Tolkein elvish as their native tongue. It is rumored that Tolkein was really a newly returned elf himself.
