Squatters Ethnicity in Tales from the Peppermint Twist | World Anvil

Squatters

by Artbreeder by Absinthe
Squatters, the poor homeless people of 2085. To be found in almost every city throughout the world. Generally though not fault of their own, they lack the means to obtain an advanced education and the few remaining trade jobs have larger been taken over by automation, robics, drones and AI interfacing.    Depending on the few government programs and meager corporate donations, squatters are often relegated to living in the extremely low income areas that have rampant crime and any sense of order is maintained by the gangs or the few citizen watch groups that try to keep a semblance of community.    Living in abandoned and derelict buildings, vehicles or perhaps a shipping container if lucky enough to find one, a squatter's accomodation can never be guaranteed. Almost all squatters are forced to carry their meager belongings on their back or push them along the pavement in a trolley.
