Short Public Excerpt/Summary

After an excursion to retrieve a demented, Force-using clown, Tia, Sabbath, Seru, Syatt, and Varian head back towards Nigita on the Runequest. After walking Tia to her room, Sabbath displays his typical disregard for doors.

Sabbath and Tia entered the ship, silently walking, holding hands. They stop before the door to the luxury suite and Sabbath faces her. “Once again, couldn’t have done it without you.” Then, he kisses her cheek tenderly, gives her hand a squeeze.

“Good night,” he whispers as he enters the luxury suite and closes the door behind him.

Then, he presses his back to the door and covers his ears, waiting for the explosion.

It doesn't take long. "SABBATH!" He both hears and feels the impact as her fists connect repeatedly with the door. "What the HELL do you think you're doing?! LET ME IN!" She tries the door.

Sabbath opens the door, leans against the jamb, mimicking a scene at Tia’s door not long ago. He is barely able to suppress a smile. “You’re knocking. That’s progress. Maybe next time you’ll call fir.......”

Tia brings her arms up and shoves him back through the door, interrupting him mid-word. She advances with him, pushing her way into the suite. Her eyes flash, and her expression is a potent mix of aggravation and exasperated amusement, but she can't suppress an involuntary peal of laughter. "Just one difference, slugger - last I checked, that was when you were trying to get into my place, and this is my room, not yours." Having gained entry, she takes a step back, gestures at the random clothing, gear, and makeup strewn around the room, and raises an eyebrow at him. "Didn't figure you for the kind to break into a lady's room and root through her drawers. How very unchivalrous of you." She crosses her arms in front of her and smirks.

"Although I suppose that this time, you didn't use a lightsaber to do it, so I suppose that is progress."

Sabbath can’t keep the smile from his face. He warms her shoulders with his hands.

“I never touched your drawers....,” he almost laughed. “Yet.”

Then, he turned and moved to exit, then stopped. He turned.

“Interesting that you pushed me INTO the room and not OUT,” his smile became wicked. “Is that progress, too?”

Tia lets out another peal of laughter. "Wouldn't you like to know? Now get OUT!" Reaching over, she plucks a pillow from the bed and lobs it at where Sabbath stands in the door.

Sabbath takes the pillow in the face, catching it as it falls. He brings it up to his nose and inhales deeply.

“Good night, Tia,” Sabbath’s smile becomes softer. Then, he turns to go.

Taking the pillow with him.

Tia snorts, shaking her head as she closes - and locks - the door behind him.
