The Vigil sends Sabbath, Tia, Fausto, Varian, and Butterfly to Uphrades to reestablish communications with a colony and deliver medical supplies. Upon arrival, they find the Black Sun searching for someone or something on the planet. Negotiations turn sour and a shootout occurs. When the smoke clears, a colonist "Sammy" has stolen the Black Sun ship, and the Vigil has arrived to relocate the colony to escape the Black Sun's notice.
