Karim of Araya

Karim of Araya

The eldest son of three children, Karim grew up to be caring and protective to his family and their sheep. But this idillyc vision of a future in Araya where he grows old in the hands of a sweet village Wood Elf, but never gets to know anything beyond its oh-so-green hills, somehow seemed just not enough. So when Elijah, a Rebellion Captain, passed by, Karim seised this chance to join his band. Under Elijah's teachings, he learned the ways of the Blood Hunters. Trusting the man blindly, he never questioned his training, no matter how bizarre or even sometimes painfull. Even when his memories of those days were hazy, he felt that it was just fine, as long as he gained the strenght he needed to protect what was precious to him.   Karim felt like he understood his role in this world, until the night he met by chance the man named Thorismund. From then on, his path only contorted even further.

The Druid and the Tree

Turns out the curse thing was more complicated than we initially thought. On our way we encountered some evil tree spirits. We prevaled, yet we lost Mark, the automaton that was with the scrauny lad Kaz. Nearing the tree on the hill, a horrific sight awaited us. There he was, the forest druid, killing a child and offering its blood in some twisted ritual of the night. Unforgivable! We were quick on our blades, but still couldnt save the poor kids life. But things got even worse somehow. The Druid was doing this to ward off the land's curse, in way of a sinister pact that invilved the sacrifices of innocent children. The spirits from before.. the poor souls what have we done.

Πετροξυλιά

The woodelf is an ally of the Rebellion, might as well take the same route back with them. Seems safer that way too. At the village we met a high elf thats either too smart or too crazy or both, Karanthir, he was with a lady named Elisa. She too seemed to heve problems of her own. Mandos, a young man from the village, told us aboud a curse that seems to plague their land. Of course we will offer our help. I would like someone to do the same, was this village Araya. They have nice ale there, and the dwarf blacksmith is thankfully a conneseur of both beer and iron. At night, Thorismund showed us seven rings, with a sigil I had never seen before. He told us about the Slayers, an ancient order he plans to bring back to life. Seeing our lands torn between the Rebellion and the Empire, he feels a third party would make sure the final outcome is for the greater good. That sounds nice and all, but not realistic enough if you ask me. He also spoke of the end of the world? Ominous but also seems unlikely. Mandos happily took the ring, and swore a new oath over his loyalty to the Rebellion. I am still sceptical, but tempted. In any case, I'll keep the ring.

The night at the Inn
08/07/778 AoS

As I was preparing to fall asleep, I hear noises from the next room. Naturally, considering the events of the suspicious cargo, I want to check what exactly is going on. A white haired man and a scared woodelf are comfronting a young lad, that had entered their room. Thorismund, Serebra, Kazimir are their names. The boy tried to steal my newfound sword! Thankfully it went ablaze. The little bastard. Suddenly, it started raining ash? A yellow light flickered in the distance, Thorismund tried to step outside. Back inside, something weird was going on. Turns out it was an Oblex (they steal other creatures memories, assuming their forms afterwards).

The night of the Convoy Mission

We were to infiltrate one of the Empire's Storage Outposts. This simple in and out turned to a massare (for the empire's soldiers) by the contents of a seemingly normal box. It was dark, but an even blacker darkness somehow attacked? We quickly left, but the Empire is not the only enemy in the forests. An owlbear took chase. An unholy miracle took place then; in a wrong turn the thicket cleared, and a sword lay there. I felt it resonate with me somehow, and there I was, saved. By a hair's breath I escaped another fateful encounter that night, Frederick himself was patrolling the woods.
