Tal'dorei

My own vision of what the land of Matt Mercer's own design would look like generations removed from the Vox Machina campaign. All of his general history is in tact with a few minor alteration being made to suit my own purpose. I have taken liberty with the fact that so many fantasy movies and worlds exist that I can pull from. The current world is inspired heavily by Game of Thrones to the point that many names, places, houses and relevant locations from their world exists in mine. All story lines that my players play are of my own design.   The world was formed according to Matt Mercer by a Creation Primordial. They went on to create the First Children, the Elves. After the birth of the known world, the world would go through several changes. First was the Age of Arcanum which saw magic increase 10-fold throughout the world. Next was a dark time for residents as The Calamity claimed much of the lore surrounding it making learning about it or anything before a mystery.   After the Calamity renewal began on the continent that is known today as Tal'dorei and this when a new time begun. In today's lore it is known as Year 1 of the First Era (1 1E). Classic Human history began here and lasted 1350 years ending on 530 2E. The Third Era marked the start of Modern Human History and has lasted to this day.   Magic has played a huge part in the world at large. Most technological advancements have come from the minds of Artificers, Wizards and Arcanists. Sending messages thousands of miles in an instant, sending someone far away in a matter of seconds, mending something that is broken have all come from these people. Academy's have been set up for people can learn and hone magic from a young age and rules have been set to keep mages from being too powerfully and rules to keep the dead, dead. Necromancy has been outlawed on the continent for generations now and the Academy's top professors have partnered with the government to outlaw what is now known as the Three Forbidden Spells.
