Skintaker

Creatures native to Shadowfell who feed on sentient beings, devouring their flesh but preserving their skins to wear as disguises. Unlike other shapeshifters, Skintakers can only take on the forms of those they've killed and eaten, and they seem to adopt not only some of the skills, memories, and arcane talents of the devoured but also mannerisms and personalities, forming a kind of hybrid between the victim and the twisted monster.
Social creatures, they tend to congregate in "nests" of 2 to 6 lead by a Skintaker who demonstrates the ability to wield the shadow magic of their home plane, often known as Shadoweavers.
It is not currently known whether they have "true" or "original" forms.
As wth other shapeshifters, they seem to feel emnity towards Yueshen and her clergy, and the feeling is mutual, with moonlight often able to show flaws in their disguises that would not otherwise be perceieved.

The Alt-imates fought a nest of Skintakers in the Oyod Empire who had replaced the family who resided in Montblanc Manor.
