Rodewin
Hidden amid the rugged western highlands of the Rikken Hills, Rodewin is a grim mining and hunting village where the weight of Shekiac’s authority presses heavier than the stone itself. Though officially under the Corntelyn Barony, true power belongs to the Hell’s Legion, whose black-armored patrols stalk the muddy streets and garrison the old mine keep that looms above the settlement. Their red banners hang over the forges and taverns alike—a constant reminder that Rodewin serves the empire first, and its people second.
The mines here run deep, rich in iron and trace infernal ore—a volatile mineral that burns crimson when smelted. The Legion claims this material for its own forges in Egonia, guarding it as jealously as gold. The miners work under armed supervision, and disappearances are common. Some vanish into the tunnels; others are “recruited” into the Legion’s service, never seen again.
The locals live hard, silent lives—hunters trading pelts to survive, miners enduring the overseers’ whips, and merchants buying loyalty one coin at a time. At night, the air fills with the echo of iron striking stone and the low, distant hum of infernal chanting from the keep. Many believe the mine’s lower shafts connect to something far older and darker than Shekiac’s greed—a remnant of the Pale Wars’ corruption that the Legion dares not seal.
Rodewin offers a setting of tension and fear—a place where rebellion smolders beneath discipline, and where infernal influence hides beneath imperial order. Whether as allies, prisoners, or spies, the players will find that in Rodewin, everyone serves—willingly or not.
