End of the Allencourt Crisis

Era beginning/end

The chaos of the Allencourt Crisis comes to an end, with the rise of Emperor Alastair with the support of several powerful clans; restoring the Empire.

Following the chaos in the capital, the Empire descended into anarchy with the noble clans largely becoming mostly independent from the new emperors the Allencourts attempted to put in place. Over many decades, the dukes and clans attempted to gain greater power. Because the Aldworth (formerly of the Allencourts) clan of New England and the Maritimes had the largest and most modern shipyards and ports, the Royal Navy sided with the Aldworths to gain their advanced shipyards to repair and build new battleships and cruisers. The Edmiston clan (also former Allencourts) originated in Virginia and expanded by making key marriages throughout the American south. The Sasaki clan rose when the Allencourts fell in California, through their connections and trade with the Japanese the Sasaki was able to gain most of the American west coast. The Vineet of India were descendants of the former Indian Princes, but fully culturally Britannian, through their military might they were able to hold off the Russians and Chinese and unite much of India. These four clans came together in 2334 and supported Emperor Alastair, a former member of the Imperial Family, and conquered the capital from the last of the Allencourts, marking their end.
