Begining of the Allencourt Crisis

The conflict between the Allencourt clan and disagreement with the rebellious Emperor led to a coup against the Emperor by the Allencourt clan leading the capital falling into chaos as the Royal Family flees the city, and nobles refuse Imperial Arthur.

Unfortunately for the current clan head Lawrence, he miscalculated when he forced Emperor Henry to abdicate in 2223 and replaced him with Emperor Alfred who didn't intend to be a puppet, much to the clan leaders' surprise. After a few years Emperor Alfred abdicated, and without a crown prince, the throne went to his young son, whom Alfred now had control over as his father. The primary advantage of abdication allowed Alfred the freedom to move in the shadows away from public attention which enabled him to gain the support of dissatisfied nobles within the Allencourt clan. With this support base, Alfred is believed to have planned to remove the clan head, However, clan head Lawrence, however, moved quicker and occupied the Imperial White Palace, removing Alfred and his son from power. However, the situation quickly got out of control with riots breaking out against the coup as well as Emperor Alfred’s Coalition disintegrating. Clan head Lawrence's situation went from bad to worse when the Imperial Family revolted, driving Washington into chaos. Although the revolt would be put down, and the Royal Family scattered among the nobility, Britannia descended into a period of warlords as Imperial authority all but disappeared allowing France to re-occupy Calais and West Africa.
