Fae Metamorphosis
While travelling to the Fae Realm presents a number of risks through the various Fae one may encounter, even just staying there too long can carry its own risks. While it's known that the magic that permeates all of the Fae Realm is known for chaoticly altering and rearranging the landscape and geography on a whim, the transformative effects of this wild magic can also affect those not native to the Fae Realm, gradually mutating them into beings better suited to such a chaotic environment.
Transmission & Vectors

Causes

Symptoms
The first symptoms of Fae Metamorphosis include the mind of the affected individual becoming more Fae-like, commonly manifesting as heightened emotional responses, difficulty with comprehending the passage of time, and a greater sense of impulsiveness, all of which become more pronounced over time. If one stays in the Fae Realm long enough, they will begin to physically change, with the exact nature and extent of these changes varying between individuals.

Cultural Reception
Tales of Fae Metamorphosis and those afflicted by it feature in folktales throughout Taeva, particularly among those who live near the Elderwood (a place known for its particularly strong connection to the Fae Realm), and serve as cautionary tales on the dangers of wandering into the Fae Realm.
