She's Safe to Doraal
Little brother,
I came this close to snatching another of your family. I was shocked to find him out here, but Aestien is alive and well. He got taken up by the Barrier as he tried to evade the Collective after the Great Betrayal. On this side, he was forcefully stripped of his oaths by some nasty tortoise mage who I've sent a very threatening letter to. Fortunately, your big sister can restore all oaths and so he is recovering nicely. I'm going to have Alwen take away that tortoise's career and academic reputation in the next century and I promise that is a better punishment than beating him up.
Mistress and Trillium are both well - ensconced with their respective teachers. I believe there is a plot afoot to give Mistress wings, and of course this means that you will need wings as well. I am positive we can make it happen.
I hope that all of your memories of our little shadow have been restored. We managed to find a solution that will keep her as safe and fit as possible and destroyed the curse entirely. She has taken Magdalena's elder brother as a teacher and I know she is studying hard to be a good apprentice. The solution to her problem was certainly creative...there is no easy way to describe it. She called on dragon spirits (seven!) and was struggling to contain them all in her elven body. Fortunately, her new teacher is a dragon and we called in a favour from another dragon to help our little shadow become a dragon herself. She calls herself Trillium Nightshade now - forever attached to the shade and to living things.
There is such an impossible volume of things to say, but I will leave it all out in favour of just this one picture.
