Imperial Family from Miriam

It's hard to organize this letter, so much has happened. The Empress, may I shelter forever in her shade, summoned me because Alder got in trouble in a place she called the Twilight Shadow Jungle. She said the toxins there are especially corrosive against Elves and Carthians so I was the best choice to rescue my big brother.
I nearly died in there. I did like you always taught me, I broke the problems down into solvable pieces. At one point, I had to make myself a potent stimulant just to stay awake long enough to concoct an antidote for the poison in my wound and by the time the poison wouldn't kill me, I had lost soooo much blood!
It took my days to find Alder in a place where shadow magic was really dense. I used a Carthian spell to gather enough Moonlight to refract into the darkness and Alder was so weak! I had to carry him half way out before he really woke up and there were all these giant insects attacking us! It was really, really scary.
Things got weird after that, but everything is good. The Empress said I'd shown myself to be worthy of the family and she asked me if I was willing to be Alder's little sister for as long as he'd live. What kind of question is that even? Then she asked me if I'd protect the rest of the family and the Empire even if Alder fell in battle some day. Stupid question. No one fucks with our family.
I actually said that last part aloud! I so thought I was going to die, but instead she said that she'd give me the same gift she gave Bran, but I have to promise to carry the burdens of the Imperial Family along with you and everyone else. I didn't get it but she told me to come back later to swear new oaths.
Then, the really big thing happened! There's a statue in front of the palace now, Onyx made it out of black stone. It's The Empress, her Consort, you, Lilliallis and Kaide, except the monument doesn't have Kaide's name like it has everyone else's. Instead it says "Ausha - Sovereign Princess and young soul sister of the Empress." No one knows what it means. It has your name as "Imperator, Guardian of the Empire, Heir to the Throne" and Liliales as "The Dusk Wing Prince." The whole thing is labeled "The Imperial Family."
There was no explanation, but Alder says a proclamation should be coming soon at which point I'll have new oaths to swear. People at school have been asking me so many questions about you and Liliales and Kaide that I just want to hide. I won't hide. But can you tell me what's going on?
