The Metal Union

During the time period known as the Flight of the Dragon Knights, numerous metallic dragons came together to advocate for a more benevolent draconic rulership of the human nations. It was a publicly well received idea that was heavily opposed by multiple kings and queens, but they eventually buckled to the point where dragons were in every single court of every single human nation and in a massive number of political, economical, social, cultural and agricultural governmental positions.

Some just took over as leaders as to properly replace corrupt and tyrannical royals. The metallics steered the nations away from war and conflict, and instead procured a long-lasting peace and a healthy, well-kept spirit of negotiating and cooperation.

Amongst themselves, at least. The chromatic dragons would have no such nonsense, and conquered and ruled as they wished, seeing the metallics as naive idiots who deserved to be dominated and put under their heel.
