Kinetic Turtles

The friction of the sands on their shells fills them with kinetic energy that they have learned to harness and use in their sand-riding, causing a constant momentum to occur that they can only stop by crashing into something, most often a dune, which is perfectly fine for them due to the toughness of their shells.

They usually start moving to build up the momentum either by running or sliding down a dune.
