"Answord's Bleeding Throat"
"In order to increase the chances of winning the war he needed to win in order to enact change on the human nations, Answord Belpatan went to the orcs of the Crimson Megafjord with his retinue to recruit their tribes.
After an arduous amount of personal trials, he met with the representative chieftain of the tribes and, in orc fashion, challenged the chieftain to a duel. While he lost the first, the chieftain accepted another and Answord won. He then accepted another from the chieftain, and this went on for several more duels.
After their 33rd duel, Answord lost but before he could issue another challenge, the chieftain initiated a conversation. Towards the end of it, he gestured with his axe to his fellow orcs and stopped the movement of the weapon at the throat of Answord, and he asked why the human would go so far to acquire their aid, to ask them to leave their families and go to war for him.
He was pleased to hear that Answord wanted to save his fellow humans from themselves, and needed the orcs' help to do so.
And when the chieftain asked how much further Answord would go to reach that goal, Answord, the axe still touching him, slit his own throat on the blade and stared silently into the eyes of the shocked chieftain. After many long seconds, Answord said, as best he could: "I would not die for my king or my country. I would die so that my people never will."
The two grinned at each other, and before Answord collapsed, one of his companions healed him back to function. The chieftain, then and there, declared that the time to invade the human lands once more, like in the olden times, had come, albeit in a different fashion. And the humans would help them do it.
With the orcs and other allies at his side, Answord and his armies won the Thirty Three Year War Of The Thirty Three Nations."
