Cult of Galgalaa

The serpien was one the most hated and feared species in the history of Tacillia. They worshipped chaos and death gods and had multiple sects that sometimes only agreed on killing anything to appease their gods. Of these sects, the Sect of Galgalaa was one the most prominent.
Surprisingly this sect was one of the least bloodthirsty among the serpien. Of course, this doesn't mean the sect members believed in peace with their neighbors. They just had a different belief, which didn't require extreme killing and sacrifice. They believed that when the end was coming, Galgalaa, the world serpent, would come and save their children with the help of the First Nest gods. The sect had quite a few members. Sometimes whole villages were members of the sect.
However, there was an inner circle with the Sect of Galgalaa. They were a more militant group and determined to foster the coming of the end so the wait for the world serpent would be shorter. Occasionally, they probed their fellow serpiens who were more receptive to their ideals and enrolled regular sect members to become inner circle members. Skilled inner circle members trained the recruits with weapons. Those who had affinity were trained in battle magic, and through magical means, they changed their skin so that the color of the scales could be altered to camouflage them. During the shedding of their skin, sometimes the skin and scales retained their camouflage ability, and the skin was used as a cloak of disguise. Still, all their efforts were in vain because their enemies eradicated them, and neither Galgalaa nor the gods of the First Nest came to save them.
Nowadays, the serpien, their gods, and the world serpent are still in legends and folklore of the sapient species. Especially in those species that existed besides the serpien Then.
Although the serpien is no more, we still have a job to eradicate not just them but their legacy too
