Camo leather Material in Tacillia | World Anvil

Camo leather

The camo leather was one of those ancient pieces of equipment that were easy to figure out its purpose and didn't need the expertise of Girig Covendelver, the kobold scholar.
Its material is some leather, but that kind of leather is unknown to all professions. It comes in a wide variety of colors and patterns. So far, only small pieces were found, and to have a suit of it, many small parts should be sawed together, creating a cavalcade of colors and patterns within one piece of cloth. It is a very thin leather but also firm, and even the sawed-together versions have minimal chance of breaking apart.
Although Treasure hunters found parts throughout Tacillia, most of the pieces come from the Pristine Prairie. It is one of those pieces of equipment that anybody can find on the ground. It is because it is not just firm but also very light, and the tunnel tornados quickly sweep them up from the tunnels and deposit them on the ground all around the tunnels.
Its effect is similar to the magic that makes some invisible, although it is not the same. It won't make the wearer invisible, but the wearer fades into the surroundings like a chameleon using its camouflage ability. Its usage is relatively easy. Its usage is relatively easy. When a cloak or other more significant garment covers a person, that person thinks to disappear, and the cloth will make it so. It last longer than invisibility magic, but it needs a long time to be able to use it again, like it needs to recharge, and sometimes it stops functioning completely.
Nobody knows the exact number of how many of these camo leather suits were made. Probably only a few, and all of them will be in the possession of armies, nobles, and prominent organizations who can pay for even the smallest scraps.
Lately, a few scholars have come forward with a new theory that, based on the opinion of various wanderers, camo leather is not an ancient technology but the shedding of an unknown snake specie.
I never wore one, but it would be interesting to test it out underwater
— Vruhb, calamor wanderer
