The Fey Crisis Physical / Metaphysical Law in T'sara | World Anvil

The Fey Crisis

Often shortened to simply The Crisis, this incursion of fey spirits and other wild energy from outside T'sara sought to destroy the world from the inside out. Although the world was saved, The Crisis forever changed the land from the peaceful, idyllic utopia of the Lost Age into the First Age, rife with conflict and catastrophe. It also cost the life of Veserae, the God Mother, meaning there would be no more Gods, and likely no new creations in the world foreverafter.

Manifestation

The Fey arrived in T'sara as a seemingly benign, even benevolent curiosity in the world. Within a month of their first interactions with the sentient species, they were eventually introduced to the Gods that created T'sara. Veserae, the Mother of all Gods and protector of the world her children created, sensed the true motives of the Fey. Their seemingly friendly carelessness belied the sinister plot to see all of T'sara undone. The world was energy and magic given structure, and was anathema to Fey desires for pure and eternal chaos and freedom. Upon being accused, the Fey beings admitted their goals and proceeded immediately to altar and destroy T'sara dramatically. The areas of abundant food and nourhisment vanished immediately, forcing the sentient species to learn agriculture and domestication rapidly. Terrain was made more inhospitable and impassable, seperating groups and leading to divisions where there had been a singular utopian culture. The Fey attempted to alter the bodies of Humans, Elves, and the like, leading them to coalesce together for mutual protection.   The Fey Crsis was finally averted by Veserae using herself as bait. Showing more power of creation and molding than all of her Godly Children combined, she was everything the Fey detested, and the creator of their ire. Whatever the Fey destroyed, Veseare could rebuild again. Veserae led the fey on a dramatic chase out of T'sara and into the Wild Space between dimensions. Veserae has never been seen since, and is widely thought to have been destroyed by the Fey. Although the Fey can still be seen in T'sara, these versions are much fewer in number and much weaker in terms of power. They are bound to T'sara's rules of Creation, making them a part of the world they sought to destroy.

Localization

The Fey ran rampant throughout the world with no discernable pattern or strategy, terraforming and altering the world at their whim. Often, their behavior was childlike and thus completely unpredictable for where they would next strike. Other times, there was a deep cunning malevolance, changing the world at it's most dramatic and impactful.   Notably, The T'sara of the Lost Age was an expansive solitary continent, but by the end of the Crisis, it had been forcefully seperated into the three seperate bodies now seen.
