Jagna Kel Voulir (a.k.a. "Kel")

An aspiring hero, this young hunter is leaving his frontier homeland to undo the dreadful curse laid upon his brother by an evil witch. Talented but unproven, and taken over with a strong sense of vengeance, his future is far from certain. He is reckless and working with little information, but cannot be strayed from his mission.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Jagna is slightly short for a human, with scraggly auburn hair. He has a strong build from spending his entire life in hard labor on the farm. His work through the woods as a self made hunter and tracker has also allowed him a good deal of flexibility.

Physical quirks

Jagna favors his left hand. Although that bears little consideration for his crossbow, it has a significant impact on his swordplay and unarmed combat.

Personal history

Having grown on the frontier farmlands of Vishy, Jagna grew up close to his family. Near the deep forests, he would have plenty of opportunities to develop skills as a tracker and archer, hunting both down wild game for food, and the animals going after his families crops. His father Jahlneb was an avid storyteller in the oral tradition, and marinated Jagna and his older brother Jathra on tails of being a hero.
Things were not always easy at home though. Jathra was a bit eccentric, and clashed often with their parents. Shortly after becoming an adult, he went off into the nearby Ryadar Union, looking for work to help the family.Tragically, he returned a completely different person. Made a woman, no longer Jathra, his older brother had been cursed by a witch. Jagna couldn't hear much of the fight that was had the night of his return, but Jathra dissapeared off into the darkness that same night, never to be seen again.

Jagna wanted nothing more than to fix the problem in the family. If the curse were broken, his big brother could come back, and everything would be right again. For unexplained reasons, his parents refused to permit his departure. Although they couldn't stop him, the threat of never being allowed back home if he did leave was enough to keep him on the farm. Now doing the work of two, he struggled to keep things going. As he reached Jathra's age when he left, his parents started becoming deathly ill. As they passed, Jagna mourned for their lost, but saw little reason to stay on the land. Taking his crossbow and experience in hand, he sold the family farm, departing on a mission to find the witch that cursed his brother. If he couldn't convince her to break the curse, he'd kill her.

Sexuality

Jagna's had a girlfriend from the neighboring farm that he's been interested in for a number of years. Despite his best attempts, she's kept him at arms length from pursuing any form of physical intimacy. He's in a hurry to become a "real man" while on his heroic journey, and one can scarcely imagine how much trouble he could get into pursuing such intimacy.

Being in a remote area, he's only had his parents to learn from, who weren't the best role models for either relationships or physical intimacy. His father asserted himself, expecting to be pleased how and when he asked for it. Although Jagna never saw or heard them in the physical act, he could put pieces together of what was about to occur. With no other basis to go with, this is his assumption of normal relationships between partners, a position that could be dangerous both for him and whoever he may entangle himself with.

Motivation

For all of the passion in Jagna's plan, there's been little thought been put into it. Not only does he not know where his cursed sibling is, or where to find the evil witch, he hasn't put any thought into what he wants to do with his young life once he fulfills his mission.

Vices & Personality flaws

Jagna is often a hard worker and willing to put the effort in to see things through to the end, which is to his credit. Unfortunately, this can prove problematic when he doesn't do the due diligence to think of the ramifications of his actions. He's also prone to not be particularly inquisitive, moving ahead to the first solution he sees, not thinking to whether it's actually a good idea or not.
He also suffers from a degree of overconfidence, even more than is customary with the young. He's an adept hunter and tracker of common animals in the forest. He is convinced he has all of the necessary skills in order to complete his mission and become a vaunted hero.

Family Ties

According to his sainted mother, she got seperated from another major branch of her family as a young lady. Her sisters may still be alive in the area, which means Jagna may still have aunts he's never met, as well as uncles or cousins he's never heard of.
