Vodnir Camel-class Hauler Vehicle in System Down Universe | World Anvil

Vodnir Camel-class Hauler

Made by Vodnir Shipyards, this medium-sized ship was designed for the shipment of ores, manufactured parts, and anything requiring safekeeping during transit.

The Camel-class was so named due to the large hump-like protrusion that makes up the cargo-bay, jutting from the central mass of the starship. Despite being jump-capable, the heavy nature of the ship limits its speeds outside of jump-lanes and has earned itself the nickname 'Tortoise' - both lovingly and begrudgingly uttered by many a pilot, captain and crew alike.

Regardless of individual naming of any of these vessels, due to ongoing allegiances all Vodnir Shipyards ships are designated 'TCMT'. This signifies their affiliation with the Terran Coalition of Merchant Traders, regardless of whichever shipping or mining company actually has ownership of one of their vessels.

Thanks to the technological alliances with the Varish, the VC-03 Camel has benefited from multiple upgrades since the VC-02 model.
