Mantyne Stretch (Man-tine Fee-elds)

Located at the edge of the Jasturian Stars, member of no specific solar system, the Mantyne Stretch are a collection of vast asteroid fields deemed outside of claimable space. Because of this, it is not uncommon for small pirate fleets to be seen coming from their direction.

It is whispered amongst the various space-faring traders and miners that the belts are full of hidden treasures, pirate gangs and hugely-powerful fleet vessels plundered from 'Old Space'. Though these rumours have remained largely unfounded, small pirate fleets have been seen often enough from that heading to stoke the rumour mill.

The vast majority of the belts haven't been fully surveyed, thanks to the treaties in place to prevent them being owned or exploited for resources. On the rare occassion a privateer or organisation has sent probes or survey ship, they have been lost. Whether this is due to rock density, magnetic interference, or pirate intervention; this remains unknown.

Due to the emergence of a Zha'Dhen claiming that "the strands of fate require a visit to the Mantyne Stretch", it is possible a joint-venture will be called by SERD Seeker Operative Ordinus Ventraeu and his crew after attempting to gain favour and approval from SERD, the Varish and Xix.

Localized Phenomena

It is highly suspected that something within the belts prevents communication and long-range survey equipment from penetrating and analysing a majority of the asteroid formations further into the main body of the fields.

The type of interference has not yet been pinpointed as all probing has been unsuccessful.

Natural Resources

Suspected base metals, ice, small amounts of rarer ores and gas deposits. This is from primitive scanning of the inward-facing edges of the fields.
