The Guild

The Guild, also known as the Adventurer's Guild, is a worldly organization formed to give structure to those who travel the wider world in search of adventure, treasure, and more. The guild itself is unlike the other guilds of the world, in that it simply acts as a jumping off point for any would be adventurer, a place for them to garner quests and travel the world with ease, even allowing individuals of a particularly unscrupulous nature to join with them when certain organizations would deny their entry.   All in all, the Guild of Seekers and their charges are bound together through a Seal, a metal disc bonded to the souls of their members that grants them access to the resources of the guild and its charters. Though the guild and its members are not bound to any one country, many of its members find themselves favoring one nation over another, many of which even join with the military of a nation or more so, rise the ranks of nobility and leadership to bring about their own beliefs to a nation that they fought for, for so many years.

Prerequisite

Every Adventurer class player is automatically enrolled in this faction. Civilians are not allowed entry, at least not to the wider range of benefits, instead they can join up as an initiate, marking them as persons of interest to the guild and its members, but otherwise granting no other boon or benefit.

Faction Equipment Package

  • Guild Seal (Adventurer only): This metal disc bears the symbol of The Guild, to the trained eye it emanates an aura of magic that glows with conjuration and evocation magic. This seal can be used by the highest ranking members to communicate with their charges, and perhaps more. While the lower ranking members can use the seal to transport themselves over long distances to the location of their mission, and back from their missions, though doing so requires a full hour of Concentration on the seal. The Guild Seal is soul bound to the individual, it cannot be removed, stolen, or otherwise lost, should its bearer die, the seal follows them into the afterlife, and should its bearer suffer True Death, as in total soul destruction, it is destroyed, disintegrated into ash.
  • While the Guild seal cannot be removed, stolen, or otherwise, lost, it can be disabled. When apprehended, by local governance, or otherwise captured while in mission, the seal no longer functions. This can be done by using an Action to disable the sigil's magic, this action cannot be taken by the soulbound user. If attempted to be used by players to cheat travel restrictions of the sigil, this action no longer functions for those users for this purpose.
  • At the end of a mission (as dictated by the Game Master) the guild seal automatically begins the teleportation process to bring you back to your original location, unless halted via the above feature. If something IRL that forces you to leave early, the teleportation process occurs immediately. If this is used to cheese out of situations in a meta-way, disciplinary actions may be taken, such as removal from the Living World.

Faction Benefits

  • Guild Contacts (Adventurer only): As a member of The Guild, you are given contact with its wider network of quests and rumors, thus allowing you to hear about tasks through the Guild Seal nearly instantly for any officially sanctioned quests or rumors. These words travel cross-planar, but not into the realm of death.
