Ritual Caster
You have learned how to harness the latent magical energies of the spheres to produce long standing magical effects within rituals. These rituals are written just like a wizard would write a spell within their spell book, which you must have in hand while casting a known ritual. Your focus into ritualistic magical has allowed you to further utilize ritual implements with ease, and with enough time you will assuredly rise to the ranks of a true master in your field of study.
Benefit
- You gain Proficiency in Ritual Implements. if you are already Proficient in these tools, you instead gain Expertise, which means your Proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make with this tool.
- Choose one ability score of your choice, when making checks with Ritual Implements you can choose to use this Ability Score's modifier instead of the base Ability score modifier for that tool.
- When you choose this feat, you form a ritual book holding two 1st-level spells that hold the Ritual tag of your choice. Your spellcasting ability for these spells is the same as the ability score chosen by this for this feat when using your Ritual Implements. Additionally, If you come across a spell in written form, such as a magical spell scroll or a wizard's spellbook, you might be able to add it to your ritual book. The spell's level can be no higher than half your level (rounded up), and it must have the ritual tag. The process of copying the spell into your ritual book is the same as if you were a wizard copying a spell into your spellbook.
- As someone with 3 levels in a class capable of full spellcasting progression, or with a Profession related to the spellcasting such as Court Mage or Acolyte, you advance to Journeyman at level 3, and Master at level 5.
- If you do not meet the above requirements, you can still advance based off your combined class levels; reaching Journeyman at level 5, and Master at level 7.
Journeyman
- You can cast one of your Ritual spells of a level no greater than your Proficiency bonus as an Action, you may do so a number of times equal to your ritual casting modifier, regaining spent uses after you complete a Long Rest.
- You can empower a spell that is cast within 30 feet of your position as a Reaction, causing that spells duration to be doubled, you can use this feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency bonus, regaining spent uses after you complete a Long Rest.
Master
- You become a Master in Ritual Implements, which means your Proficiency bonus is tripled for any ability check you make with it.
- The time it takes for you to cast a ritual is reduced by a quarter of the base time, for example a ritual that takes 8 hours would instead only require 6 hours for you to cast.
- Whenever a ritual would benefit from a Channeler, you count as an additional Channeler, whether you are its Practitioner or not. A channeler is an assistant to a ritual being cast, while a practitioner is the central figure casting the ritual.
