Practiced Spellcaster

You have undergone training to improve your magical capability, even when it is not your primary focus.

Prerequisite(s)

  • Spellcasting or Pact Magic class feature.

Benefit

  • Choose one class that possesses the Spellcasting or Pact Magic class feature; when determining your overall spellcasting ability in this class, you treat yourself as if you were two levels higher in your chosen class than normal. Your total spellcasting level cannot exceed your actual level.
  • If you are a Prepared Spellcaster, the number of spells that you can prepare in a day in your chosen class is increased by your Proficiency bonus. If you are a Spontaneous Spellcaster, you instead increase the number of Spells Known in your chosen class by your Proficiency bonus; you can switch these spells out whenever you would gain a level.
  • A Prepared Spellcaster can leave one of their prepared spell-slots in your chosen class unprepared. You may prepare a spell in this slot as a Bonus Action at any time, so long as the slot is not yet filled.
  • A Spontaneous Spellcaster can attempt to regain a spell slot in your chosen class that they have cast as a bonus action after casting a spell. If you do so, make a Concentration check with a DC equal to 10 + the spell's level. On success the spell slot is not expended, on failure, the spell slot is lost but the use of this ability is not. You can use this ability once, regaining its use after completing a long rest.
