Effect
You steal the life energy from a target creature within range in order to heal your own, or an ally within range of their wounds. Your target must make a Constitution saving throw or suffer 4d8 points of Necrotic damage, and you or one creature of your choice that you can see within range regains a number of hit points equal to twice the amount of damage that your target suffered from this spell.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 3rd.
