Laws of Arlogas
Note, all punishments listed may be increased due to repeated offenses, or the severity of the offense.
Punishment for a crime can include one or more of the following, based on the nature of the crime, who or what the crime is committed against, and the criminal record of the convicted:
- Death.
- Exile (for a number of years or summers, cannot interact within the region such as posting notice boards. Officials will notice those who post things on behalf or supporting those Exiled.)
- Flogging (a set number of strokes. Exhaustion level based upon number of strokes (1 level per 25 strokes.))
- Hard Labor (for a period of DTDs depending on the seriousness of the crime.)
- Fine (payable to the city or appropriate parties; inability to pay the fine leads to imprisonment and/or hard labor.)
- Edict (Forbidding the convicted from doing something; violation of an edict can result in hard labor, and/or a fine.)
- Seizure (confiscation of items, property, structures, goods and the like, taken by the state and distributed as necessary based upon the lord of the given realm.)
- Dismemberment (permanent removal of limb, digit, appendage, or other body part.)
- Branding (branded mark upon body part, often on chest, shoulder, hand, or forehead, indicating the branded as a criminal of the branded mark.)
- Enslavement (Sold into slavery, and potentially force retirement.)
Crimes against Nobility and Government Officials
Treason: Treason is an act against the Region of Arlogas, it’s people, or the Everbloom.Typical Punishment(s): Seizure of all assets and death. Spying or sabotage for a foreign power: Spying or sabotage is aiding a foreign power in any form in order to undermine the power of the Everbloom or it’s leaders..
Typical Punishment(s): Seizure of all assets and death. Murder of nobility or an official: Seizure of property and death. Impersonating leaders: The unlawful act of taking on the role or otherwise impersonating any member of the Upper Branch Leaders..
Typical Punishment(s): Death Assaulting a leader: Attacking a member of the Upper Branches outside of approved measures.
Typical Punishment(s): Removal of offending limb or appendage. Assaulting or impersonating an official: The unlawful act of taking on the role or otherwise impersonating a government official or attacking a government official.
Typical Punishment(s): Fines of 10,000gp, removal of appendage, enslavement for 2 years*. Blackmailing a member of leadership: The act of coercing a member of The Upper Branches in order to receive a reward, monetary or otherwise.
Typical Punishment(s): Enslavement for 5 years* followed by Exile from the Region up to 5 years. Blackmailing an official: The act of coercing a government official in order to receive a reward, monetary or otherwise.
Typical Punishment(s): Enslavement for 2 years* followed by Exile for 2 years. Bribery or attempted bribery of an official or leadership: The act of offering or successful giving of ‘gifts’ to a government official or a member of the Upper Branches in order to receive a desired outcome that would otherwise be illegal.
Typical Punishment(s): Fine up to 20,000gp followed by 6 months of Exile. Using magic on leadership without their consent: The act of using magic of any kind on a member of the Upper Branches without their consent. Typical Punishment(s):Death. Using magic on an official without their consent: The act of using magic of any kind on a government official without their consent.
Typical Punishment(s): Removal of appendage and fine up to 10,000gp Forgery of an official document: The unlawful creation of official documents, sigils, symbols, or similar articles.
Typical Punishment(s): Branding of the body, Enslavement for 6 months*, fine up to 5000gp, loss of 3 fingers. Willful disobedience of a lawfully given edict or sentence: The act of willfully disobeying the lawfully given sentence of a government official or nobility.

Crimes against Settlement
Arson: The act of deliberately or negligently setting fire to property or protected areas or otherwise causing serious damage through a set blaze.Typical Punishment(s): Death Brandishing weapons without due cause: The act of drawing or otherwise negligently brandishing weaponry in society.
Typical Punishment(s): Fines of 50gp Disturbing the peace: The act of disturbing the peace through noise complaints, disruptive behavior, disparaging and violent actions, and similar actions.
Typical Punishment(s): Fines of 25gp, and edict against triggering act Drunk or disorderly contact: The act of drunken and disorderly conduct in public spaces that cause disturbing the peace or destruction of property.
Typical Punishment(s): Fines of 10gp, and edict against triggering act. Littering: The act of discarding improperly garbage, rubbish, refuse, and similar untidy objects within public space.
Typical Punishment(s): Fines of 4000gp Poisoning a city well: Knowingly poisoning a city well or water supply, unknowingly doing so results in a lesser sentence.
Typical Punishment(s): Death. Petty Theft: The act of taking objects that belong to others of a value no greater than 50gp.
Typical Punishment(s): Fines of 10gp + the cost of the item(s) stolen, confiscation of stolen items, and removal of one thumb (or one appendage in the case of a thumbless being) Theft: The act of taking objects that belong to others of a value no greater than 1000gp.
Typical Punishment(s): Fines of 50gp + the cost of the item(s) stolen, confiscation of stolen items, branding, dismemberment of one hand. Grand Larceny: The act of taking objects that belong to others of a value no less than 1000gp.
Typical Punishment(s): Fines of 100gp + the cost of the item(s) stolen, confiscation of stolen items, dismemberment of hand, branding, Enslavement for 3 months* Usury: The act or practice of lending coin at unreasonably high rates of interest.
Typical Punishment(s): Fines of 1000gp, and enslavement for 3 months*, branding, Flogging of 175 lashes Vandalism: The act of vandalizing or otherwise damaging public works and structures.
Typical Punishment(s): Fines of 100gp + the cost of repairs, and Branding. Smuggling: The act of transporting illegal or restricted goods without a license, or the act of crossing the border without paying the border fee.
Typical Punishment(s): Fines of 1000gp + the cost of the item(s) smuggled, confiscation of smuggled items, dismemberment of finger or hand or branding Metal Items**: Items smuggled in otherwise not allowed. Typical Punishment(s): Removal of Limb, Fine up to 5000gp
Crimes against the Citizenry
Assaulting a citizen: The act of attacking a citizen without consent.Typical Punishment(s): Fines of 500gp, a flogging of 25 lashes Assaulting a member of the military: The act of attacking a member of the military.
Typical Punishment(s): Fines of 500gp, a flogging of 100 lashes Blackmailing a citizen: The act of coercing a citizen in order to receive a reward, monetary or otherwise.
Typical Punishment(s): Fines of 100gp and a flogging of 25 lashes. Fencing stolen goods: The act of selling objects that belong to others.
Typical Punishment(s): Fines of 5000gp + the cost of the item(s) stolen, confiscation of stolen items, branding Murder: The act of murdering a citizen without justification.
Typical Punishment(s): Fines of 1,000gp and hard labor for up to 100 DTDs, along with up to 5,000gp paid to the victim’s kin, and potentially Exile for up to 5 years or seizure of property and death depending on the severity. Using magic to influence citizenry without their consent: The act of using magic of to influence the citizenry without their consent.
Typical Punishment(s): Fines of 1000gp, with additional fines of 500gp for damages or public humiliation caused, dismemberment of one hand Kidnapping: The act of unlawfully holding or imprisoning a citizen.
Typical Punishment(s): Fines of 5000gp, a flogging of 150 lashes
Crimes against the Everbloom
Arson: Setting fire to the jungle or a large area without the approval of The Watchers.Typical Punishment(s): Death Research of Blight or Corruption: Research into the two subjects without approval of The Changing Seasons and The Watcher by the use of keeping samples and people infected without care.
Typical Punishment(s): Death Damage to the Everbloom or Erunxhul: Intentional Damage or harm directed towards the Everbloom or any of the living Erunxhul.
Typical Punishment(s): Death Destruction of Druidic Groves: Destruction or damaging druidic groves are prohibited.
Typical Punishment(s): Fine up to 3000g, Loss of DTD required to repair or replace grove. Sedition: The act of inciting people to rebel against the gifts given by the Everbloom.
Typical Punishment(s): Death Heresy: The act of worship or supplication towards a forbidden entity, deity, patron, or otherwise.
Typical Punishment(s): Seizure of all assets and death. Theft of Divine Relics: The act of taking objects that belong to The Upper Branches.
