Core Languages

Common

Common is a relatively new language, it is a simplified language used as a trade language for all those upon the surface of Syrik. English (or the group's native tongue) is the language used to translate.

Druidic

Druidic is a secret tongue only known to druids and those that have been granted the privilege. It is a language of magic. Irish is the language used to translate, and druidic runes are used for the text.

Sacré

Sacré is the language of creation, it is the language used by the gods to form the universe and is used in all forms of magic, whether known or not. This language is highly volatile, and any mortals who speak it should be wary. It is a language of magic. Hebrew is the language used to translate, and hebrew script is used for the text. This language cannot be truly spoken without possessing the appropriate feat or the Speaker class.

Thieves' Cant

Thieves' Cant is a unique language, hard learned, and little understood, it is a language of coded words, cyphers, and symbology that oft times is used by the lower-classes and criminal organizations as a way to communicate freely while employing a series of techniques in order to deliver a specific message, entirely unbeknownst to unenlightened listeners. The language is ever changing, often doing so multiple times in a given year, with a variety of different dialects for each region, always trying to stay one step ahead of those who may have figured out the inner workings of the language.

Zeigltol

Zeigltol is the language of destruction, it is the language used by the gods to destroy the universe and is used in all forms of magic, whether known or not. This language is highly volatile, and any mortals who speak it should be wary. It is a language of magic. Enochian is the language used to translate, and enochian script is used for the text. This language cannot be truly spoken without possessing the appropriate feat or the Speaker class.

Dark Folk

Dark Folk is the language of the Shadowfell, and beings of shadow. It is a language of magic. Igbo is the language of translation, and text.

Ignan

Ignan is the language of elemental fire, the common tongue of Ibarshaln, and of fiery creatures. Teluga is the language of translation, and text.

Infernal

Infernal is the language of devil-kind, and the creatures native to hell. It is a language of magic. True Infernal is the language of translation, devilish runes are used for the text.

Necril

Necril is the language of the dead, the undead, and psychopomps. It is a language of magic. True Necril is the language of translation, necril runes are used for the text.

Primordial

Shadowlands

Terran is the language of elemental earth, the common tongue of Eoldvord, and of earthen creatures. Malagasy is the language of translation, and text.

Álf

Álf is the language of the Light Elves, and the common tongue of Álfheim. It is a language of magic. Italian is the language of translation, and tolkien elvish is used for the text.

Canine

Canine is the language of gnolls, anubites, and similar canine humanoids, as well as the language of dogs, and their larger cousins such as bears, and wolves. It is made up of yips, howls, and barks. There is no written language.

Canter

Canter is the language of Centaur, Unicorn, and similar equine humanoids, as well as the language of horses, donkeys, and similar ungulates. It is made up of neighs, rumbles, stomping of hooves, and whinnies. There is no written language.

Chiripi

Chiripi is the language of the tengu, and the other avian races, as well as all birds. It is made up of tweets, chirps, trills, warbles, and whistles. There is no written language.

Chitterling

Chitterling is the language of ettercaps, driders, and other arachnid humanoids, as well as the language of arachnids, and their larger cousins such as giant spiders or scorpions. It is made up of clicks, hisses, and chirps, and purrs. There is no written language.

Croaki

Croaki is the language of the amphibious humanoids, as well as frogs and similar amphibious beasts. It is made up of croaks, ribbits, clucks, and barks. There is no written language.

Deep Speech

Deep Speech is the language of the Illithid, Aboleth, and similar aberrations, it is also a language used by the great old ones. It is a language of magic. Deep Speech (Cthulhu) is the language used to translate, and Cthulhu is used for the text.

Draconic

Draconic is the language of true dragons, and their lesser cousins, as well as the draconic humanoids, and the reptilian humanoids. It is a language of magic. Draconic is the language used to translate, and Skyrim dragon is used for the text.

Dwarven

Dwarven is the language of the dwarven people, and is considered the common tongue of the upper levels of the Underdark. It is a language of magic. Dwarven is the language used to translate, and dwarven runes are used for the text.

Elvish

Elvish is the language of the elven people, and is considered the common tongue of the feywild. It is a language of magic. Elven is the language used to translate, and Tolkien elvish is used for the text.

Feline

Feline is the language of tabaxi, and vah-shir, as well as the language of cats and their larger cousins, lions and similar big cats. It is made up of meows, purring, and yowling. There is no written language.

Giant

Giant is the language of the towering humanoids that are giants. It is a language of magic. Swedish is the language used to translate, and dwarven runes are used for the text.

Gnomish

Gnomish is the language of gnomes and smaller seelie fey, such as brownies, sprites, and pixies. It is a language of magic. Gnomish is the language used to translate, and Tolkien elvish is used for the text.

Goblin

Goblin is the language of the goblins, hobgoblins, and certain monstrous beasts. It is a language of magic. Goblin is the language used to translate, and dwarven runes are used for the text

Halfling

Halfling is the language of halflings and smaller unseelie fey, such as redcaps, and tooth faeries. It is a language of magic. Halfling is the language used to translate, and Tolkien elvish is used for the text.

Hassasshee

Hassasshee is the language of the yuan-ti and nagaji, of the ancient serpentine kingdoms as well as snakes and similar creatures. It is made up of hisses and low growls, but the use of body language and movement is heavily used as well. It is made up of hisses, yips, and low growls, but also utilizes body language and movement as well. Hassasshee utilizes the Tigrinya alphabet for their text.

Nein

Nein is the language of deep sea dwellers and oceanic tribes, as well as sharks and similar aquatic beasts. It is made up of growls, barks, and hisses, but the use of body language and movement is heavily used as well. Nein utilizes the Aquan alphabet and uses it for their text. Any creature that speaks Shark, strictly speaks Nein, and vice versa.

Orcish

Orc is the language of the orcs, bugbears, and certain monstrous beasts. It is a language of magic. Orc is the language used to translate, and dwarven runes are used for the text.

Pherose

Pherose is the language used by the Novi, Pipiri, and creatures that communicate through scent and motion, rather than through speech. It is made up of movements, dances, and various scents that are produced by the speaker to communicate. There is no written language.

Probus

Probus is the language of the Loxodon, and similar elephantine humanoids, as well as the language of elephants and similar beasts. It is made up of trumpetting noises, ear-flaps, stomps, and eye-movements. There is no written language.

Sahuagin

Sahuagin is the language of sahuagin, deep sea humanoids such as the Locathah, and sharks. It is a language of magic. It is made up of strange groans, grunts, gurgles, and trilling. There is no written language.

Sauric

Sauric is the language of the saurians and the lost kingdoms of the hidden peoples as well as saurischian dinosaurs and similar creatures. It is made up of growls, hisses, clicks, chirps, trills, warbles, whistles. Sauric utilizes the Sanskrit alphabet for their text.

Sqree

Sqree is the language of the ratfolk, and rodents of all types. It is made up of squeaks, squeals, the twitching of noses, and the patter of feet. There is no written language.

Svart

Svart is the language of the Dark Elves and Svartàlfar, and the common tongue of Svartàlfheim. It is a language of magic. Slovenian is the language of translation, and dwarven runes are used for the text.

Undercommon

Undercommon is the language of the Underdark, it is spoken by the creatures found in the deep dark, as well as certain aberrations and similar beasts. Undercommon is the language used to translate, and dwarven runes are used for the text.

Vanaran

Vanaran is the language of the Vanara, as well as apes, and monkeys of all types. It is made up of howls, whoops, chittering, gibbers, and screeches.

Sign Languages

These are the currently available, non-secret Sign Languages to LW players.  

Night Whispers / Berusian Sign Language / BSL

Originated due to a need to hide away from the night beasts that stalked Berusia, and the warriors that fought against the night.  

Runescar / Draconic Sign Language / DSL

Originated as a way for dragons to carve magic into reality, though transitioned into a language of its own as its uses outside of runescribing were discovered.  

Field Speech / Vazian Sign Language / VSL

Originated as a military code for simple gestures and commands to be used silently on mission, though has grown since then as the deaf community learned from it and transitioned it into their own. Most Vazian military have basic knowledge, while those who speak the language hold full fluency, able to have entire conversations in this sign language.
