Elderscrest

Situated at the foothills of the Wyrmsmoke Mountains, along the Celwynne River, Elderscrest is a border settlement that sees heavy traffic from the army and adventurers, with plenty of refugees and asylum seekers moving here to live free away from the savagery of the Wildelands. Named after the greater tree within the heart of town, where festivals are held, the village is small, with a population of 206 (92 humans, 41 elves, 26 dwarves, 16 halfling, 11 gnomes, 10 half-elves, 6 half-orcs, 4 other.)   The hamlet of Elderscrest lies at the edge of Lake Celwynne, with Lake Embrys to the east, and the Wildelands to the south. The river flows all the way from the Wyrmsmoke mountains winding its way through the highlands through the Wheeping Vale and into the Bay of Ghosts at the border of the Aerendyll Empire, and the capitol of Calbesh, Troubadour.   The area around the town is known for its excellent apples, with orchards lining the outskirts of the hamlet, and the farms bordering the town. While the town does not hold any temple or permanent structure dedicated to their patron deity, Erastil, the local priest heads the annual Harvest Festival, a celebration of the years bounty, the land with which they grow their fine crops, and the changing of seasons.
