Deadeye

You have specialized in the use of carbine, repeater, and rolling-block long-arm rifles.

Benefit

  • You gain proficiency with Carbine Rifles, Repeating Rifles, and Rolling-Block Rifles.
  • When you make an attack with a carbine, repeater, or rolling block rifle, and your firearm is broken due to a misfire, you can use your reaction to roll a d20. If the number rolled is higher than the weapon’s misfire score, the firearm is not broken, instead being treated as a standard misfire. You cannot use this feature of this feat again until you complete a short or long rest.
  • When you use the Attack action and attack with a carbine, repeater, or rolling block rifle, you can choose to focus your shot as a bonus action. If you do so, your critical threat range is increased by one; eg. a 20 becomes a 19 or higher to critically hit, and if you do critically hit you deal an additional two dice worth of damage.
  • When wielding an archaic or industrial era carbine, you can spend an item interaction to pack additional gunpowder into the chamber, causing the next attack made with the weapon to deal an additional dice worth of damage, using this action increases the misfire score of the weapon by one for the next attack made with the weapon.
  • When using the Repeater property from a repeating rifle, the penalty on attack rolls is reduced to a cumulative -1 penalty per attack, starting at a -1 penalty for the first attack.
  • When wielding a rolling-block rifle, you can benefit from the Sniper property by using an item interaction or bonus action; in addition, whenever you hit a creature with a called shot, the attack deals an additional dice worth of damage.
