Yndraskos - The Unchained Beast

Beast, Rage, and Vengeance

Prior to obtaining divine powers, Yndraskos was but a dragonfly fluttering about the Beastlands. One evening, thunder broke out in the skies above as the echoes of battle between two great powers unfolded. Their battle infused the clouds with their power, and from them the raid brought a new and fresh ichor to the flora of the Beastlands. As an insect, Yndraskos drank from those droplets and awakened their inner beast. The first change was noticed only after Yndraskos had hunted down another insect. This time it was different, Yndraksos body changed and adapted traits from their prey. Over a great many years, Yndraskos would continue to hunt and evolve, eventually steadily rising through the food chain and hunting bigger and stronger prey. Until one day, Yndraskos had finally become the apex predator within the Beastlands. Yndraskos came to enjoy his life and would learn by watching the strange creatures that walked on two legs. He would also go on and sire new beasts and monsters that would roam the world. Eventually, the gods of old and new feared the potential power that Yndraskos could obtain and Torukk the reaper was dispatched to chain and imprison Yndraskos. For years, Yndraskos howled with rage for he had done nothing wrong, yet his divine brethren feared him and chained him against his will. He vowed to obtain vengeance on his captors. Eons passed, until eventually the chains were weakened and Yndraskos was free to hunt again.

Home Plane

Yndraskos originated in the forest of the Beastlands. It is said that deep within his home Yndraskos’ has a den named Remembrance.

Appearance

Yndraksos had many faces and forms. With him being able to take on the form of the beast he has hunted, there is not an exact description of what he looks like. In some instances, it has been recorded that Yndraksos prefers two forms. The first being his natural beast form. In this state, Yndrasksos is said to have the body of a lion, with wings of dragon, horns of monsters, and other creature parts such as scales and tentacles. Yndrasksos' more humanoid form is said to be a man with bronze skin covered in bones, leaves, and gold clothing. His most noticeable feature would be the gold skull headdress that he wears. Lastly, in any of his forms, Yndrasksos is said to have the scars of the chains that he was imprisoned with, and that the broken remains of the chains still remain attached to him.

Relationships

Yndraskos has an uneasy relationship between his divine comrades. Most see him as a beast that needs to be caged and controlled. Some are a relationship of trust and respect, while others are seeded in hatred and vengeance. Graund is one who Yndraskos respects. It is said that Graund had broken the chains of his masters and had set out on a destiny of his own, for this he earned the chained beast respect. Unnyra is a comrade in arms for Yndraskos and someone who he can trust and confide in. Given their past history, Torukk is one the Yndraskos despise and vows to seek vengeance on the Hunter of Death.

Temples and Shrines

Temples of Yndraskos are a place of worship and a sanctuary for all beasts. Additionally, within the halls of Yndraskos’ temples are the bones and trophies of successful hunts. In most temples, nature is incorporated into the construction of the temple. Whether that is through the natural vegetation of jungles and forest, or the bones of a mighty beast. Temples of Yndraskos act as sanctuaries for animals and it is decreed there shall be no hunting within the grounds. A guardian beast protects these temples and ensures that all who enter uphold the decrees of Yndraskos.
