Skormun - Ash Keeper - CN
Death, Fire, Trickery
Skormun was born from the sparking embers of Eolds forge, given life by the Forge Master, he like the sparking ember was lit a flame throughout the Dwarven people, filling a need within them, but so to causing unintended harm. Keeper of death and flames, the Ash keeper was assigned as far from the Forge Masters creations as could be, sent to act as the gate keeper of the dwarvish afterlife, Skormun held true to his job, for a time at least, for like a spark of fire he could both bring comfort and pain. He took upon the souls of many, but some, those he deemed acceptable were sent back, twisted versions of their former selves as his experiments grew, so too did the darker paths of the dwarven people.
Sensing this change within the Ash Keeper, Eold, the Forge master, banished Skormun to the edges of the known realms, it is here where Skormun learned of his true path. He learned to forge a new being, creatures of both death and life--the golems--and from this forbidden knowledge, he sent them to protect his people who long ago abandoned him, saving them from destruction his people gave him praise. They brought Skormun back from his isolation and gave back his position as keeper of souls, it is through Skormun that all dwarven kind are judged, and it is through Skormun that those judged poorly return, to act under their masters orders, unaware as to the why, unaware of their, but perhaps with enough luck, one could bargain their way past the Ash Keeper.
